What To Do When School Days End – FREE Resource

Engaging youth to step into their own power to explore their interests/careers, to adapt to different settings, and to use self-advocacy in their daily lives has always been some of my favorite missions. Don’t we all want youth to be awesome, amazing, and to feel empowered and resilient?

To parents, teachers, counselors, and therapists launch youth forward during transition planning by getting personalized answers that reflect where they want to go i.e., to adapt to their next life phase (work), summer solutions such as leisure, or job development.

What To Do When School Days End is FREE. This resources contains 22 pages with 176 life-giving guiding questions to reveal a student’s areas of need and possibilities to explore to find a goal direction. The questions fall into to the 7 these areas of living: General/life skills, choices and decision-making, household tasks, community and social, occupational/job,  emotional stability, and communication.

I created these Life Giving Planning Questions (LGPQ) from my research, and extracted from my book, The Capability and Independence Scale The Capability and Independence Scale –The questions as a whole promote reflection on how to fill an unmet need, get through an abrupt change, a setback, or a crisis. The questions may reveal steps toward positive growth experiences. Overall the purpose is to choose a goal direction where meaning, purpose, joy and growth can evolve.

The good news is I see this resource is beneficial in three ways: 1) to youth who rely upon a greater need for supports in order to participate and grow, and 2) is a good tool to use in person- centered -planning, and 3) is good for anyone who wants to find options for goal direction.
